Kanakambaram is the soft orange flower you see woven into braids at South Indian functions. The petals are thin and papery and carry almost no scent, so it is often paired with jasmine for fragrance. This listing is one string, about 6 feet long.

How it is used: Worn in the hair on its own or alongside a jasmine string, tied around deity pictures, and used on Varalakshmi Vratham, Navaratri and other festival days.

Care & handling

Keep the string wrapped, or loosely in a damp paper towel inside a closed container, in the refrigerator (not the freezer) until you need it. A light sprinkle of water stops the flowers drying out.
