The coconut palm's flower is a long cluster of cream-colored stems held in a woody sheath. Many families from Kerala and Tamil Nadu set a whole coconut flower upright in a brass pot of rice or paddy as a sign of plenty, for the wedding, a house-warming or a special pooja.
How it is used: Placed beside the lamp at a wedding or engagement, set at the entrance of a new home for griha pravesam, and used in some temple and family poojas.
What you receive: One whole coconut flower cluster, wrapped. Size varies from palm to palm.
How to order: each piece is made for your order. Add it to the cart and choose a pickup day; the cart offers days from 7 days ahead. Orders are collected from Spice Town, 378 Kelly Rd, Vernon, CT. Questions: call 860-237-4280.
Flowers and leaves are natural products: color, size and fullness vary from batch to batch, and fresh flowers are perishable.
